I was paying my toll at the tollbooth a little while ago. I handed my two dollars to this pale, small, sad girl. She was probably close to my age. She reminded me of the girls who are in jail. And then it struck me that she easily could have just come from jail. Working at a tollbooth is the kind of job you would probably get out of jail.
